DIY Earring Holder

Spring is in the air, which means spring cleaning is too!

In an attempt to clean up (or rather, organize) my ever-growing jewelry collection, I decided to make an earring holder (inspired by this one).

All you will need is:

  • a frame of some sort (mine is wooden, I bought it at Hobby Lobby)
  • tulle
  • a hot glue gun
  • paint
  • paintbrushes
  • mini scissors
  • earrings!

The first thing I did was take this super bright neon pink paint, and paint the frame. I ended up doing 2 coats, letting them dry in between.

While this dried, I took the piece of tulle (not very big at all!) and folded it a few times. Then, I placed the frame overtop.

Next, I put hot glue on the back of the frame, and then laid the frame back on the tulle. Since there were a few layers of tulle, I had to glue between the layers.

After, I used small scissors (like nail scissors!) to cut along the edges to remove the excess.

I also decided to add this ribbon that I had laying around my room, so that I could hang the earring holder up.

Then, I added my earrings!

Truthfully, this was super easy! And, it looks super cute hanging up. It is a fun way to display some of your jewelry to brighten up your room after our dreary winter!

Rating: 6/10 (gluing the tulle was the hardest part!)

Painted Canvas

This week at Elon University was Greek Week! Inspired by these events, I decided to do a sorority themed craft! My sorority is Alpha Xi Delta, and I found TONS of canvases on Pinterest. Inspired by this one, I made my own.

All you need are:

  • canvas
  • paint
  • paintbrushes
  • a pencil

Many of the pictures I took went missing. However, the first thing I did was paint the canvas the light blue color. After letting that dry, I wrote out the saying in pencil.

Then, I went over it with blue paint, but made the greek letters yellow. Lastly, I decided to trace the letters in paint pen!

That’s the final product! It was super easy, and you don’t need to be very artistic to do it!

DIY Glitter iPhone Charger

As a dedicated Pinterest user, I am always seeing glittered iPhone chargers. Instead of dealing with the hassle of using loose glitter, modge podge and a brush (like this one) I found this nifty glitter tape at Michael’s Craft Store.

Image

Seriously, it is some awesome stuff. Not only is it my favorite color, and glittery, it is an adhesive tape so it is SUPER easy to work with, and there is little fallout.

All you will need for this project is glitter adhesive tape (any color you prefer!), scissors and a pencil. Oh! You will also need whatever you are adhering the tape to.

I started out by measuring the height of my charger.

Image

Then, I traced a line on the top, marking where I would cut across with my scissors.

Image

Next, you cut along the line. I recommend cutting a little bit more than needed, this way there is overlap, rather than a gap. Now, you just peel off the paper backing…

Wrap your plug, and ta-da!

After seeing how easy this process was, I admit I went a little bit glitter-crazy! I did the cord of my charger, both the USB side and the iPhone port side. Here’s the final product!

This was a super easy craft, that I think anyone could do!

Difficulty rating: 2/10 (10 being the hardest, of course!)

Happy crafting!
